This study uses a qualitative approach with case study methods in rural communities, through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and analysis of local social policy documents. The findings show that women bear a double burden: as the main responsible for domestic work and unpaid care, as well as as economic actors in supporting household incomes. This burden not only limits women's access to productive resources and social mobility, but also reproduces structural inequalities in the distribution of welfare. In addition, social protection policies tend to assume women as beneficiaries as well as managers of family welfare, without substantively reducing the burden of care they bear. This study concludes that care work is a key element of social welfare in rural areas, but it is mostly imposed on women. Women must carry out a dual role, namely taking care of the household while earning a living, so that their opportunities to develop are limited. This causes gender inequality to continue to occur. This research contributes to strengthening the sociological perspective of welfare by placing care work as a central arena in the analysis of gender inequality and social policy.
Syaifudin Suhri Kasim, Megawati Asrul Tawulo, Lutfiana Nur Azizah, Dian Puspita Rizki, Hasyim Abdillah Copyright (c) 2026 Syaifudin Suhri Kasim, Megawati Asrul Tawulo, Lutfiana Nur Azizah, Dian Puspita Rizki, Hasyim Abdillah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://neosocietal.uho.ac.id/index.php/journal/article/view/147 Fri, 24 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Interaksi Simbolik dan Pemenuhan Kebutuhan Sosial Di Komunitas Discord Genshin Impact https://neosocietal.uho.ac.id/index.php/journal/article/view/151
This study aims to analyze how symbolic interaction is formed within the online community of Genshin Impact players and how such interactions contribute to fulfilling the social needs of its members. In the digital era, online communities function not only as platforms for sharing information but also as social arenas where individuals construct identity, intimacy, and shared meaning through digital communication symbols. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using in-depth interviews with five purposively selected informants and observations of community activities on platforms such as Discord. Data analysis follows the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that interactions within the community are constructed through linguistic symbols, emojis, GIFs, voice chat, and community-specific jargon such as “whenyah” and “istri gua.” These symbols function not only as communication tools but also as means of establishing digital identity and social closeness. Furthermore, the community plays a role in fulfilling members’ social needs, including affiliation, emotional support, information, entertainment, and identity expression. Thus, online communities serve as significant digital social spaces for building relationships and fulfilling individuals’ social needs. These findings indicate that digital communities play an important role as modern social arenas, where communication symbols serve as the primary medium for constructing meaning, identity, and fulfilling the social needs of community members.
Sauqi Ichsan Kamil, Subhan Widiansyah Copyright (c) 2026 Sauqi Ichsan Kamil, Subhan Widiansyah https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://neosocietal.uho.ac.id/index.php/journal/article/view/151 Tue, 28 Apr 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Modal Sosial Medulu Mepokoaso dan Kearifan Lokal Monahu Ndau Dalam Ketahanan Pangan Tradisional Suku Tolaki https://neosocietal.uho.ac.id/index.php/journal/article/view/152
ASRANI, Sulsalman Moita Copyright (c) 2026 ASRANI, Sulsalman Moita https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://neosocietal.uho.ac.id/index.php/journal/article/view/152 Thu, 14 May 2026 00:00:00 +0000 Strategi Adaptasi Sosial Ekonomi Rumah Tangga Berbasis Modal Sosial Di Kecamatan Kalia Lia Kota Baubau https://neosocietal.uho.ac.id/index.php/journal/article/view/153
The results indicate that women's involvement in stone crushers is motivated by economic needs, a desire for independence, and an effort to help meet family needs. The income earned is variable but plays a significant role as a supplement to household income. In addition to economic benefits, this work also fosters a sense of responsibility, independence, and self-confidence. However, women face several obstacles, such as physical exhaustion, health risks, simple work tools, and uncertainty about prices and demand. In conclusion, women stone crushers make a significant contribution to improving the family economy, although they still need support in the form of training, more appropriate work tools, and government attention to ensure their welfare and occupational safety.
Farni, Peribadi, Amin Tunda Copyright (c) 2026 Farni, Peribadi, Amin Tunda https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 https://neosocietal.uho.ac.id/index.php/journal/article/view/149 Sun, 17 May 2026 00:00:00 +0000
